Every day is a constant battle between what’s right and what’s wrong. Seems pretty easy, because who would want to intentionally harm themselves, right?
BUT…
It truly is not that easy. It is like being on a diet and having a mad sweet tooth, with the options of a mouthwatering scrumptious piece of decadent chocolate cake with chocolate chips and a strawberry on top versus a freshly picked apple. The cake tastes better and solves the sweet tooth immediately upon the first bite. But after the one minute it takes for us to devour it, comes the regret and realization that we should have picked the apple. The apple may not have been what we wanted but it was what we needed, whether we knew it or will ever know it.
It is not easy but with every struggle and battle comes relief, a promise from the one who created you and me.

A man said to Imam Sadiq (A.S.):
“When a person says to me: ‘I like (or love) you.’ How do I know that he is telling the truth?”
The Imam (A.S.) answered the man:
“Examine your heart, if you like him then he likes you. Look in your heart, if it refuses your companion then one of you has done something.”
